Cape Town Opera is one of the largest full-time performing arts institutions in South Africa. Internationally recognised, it is a recipient of numerous accolades, creating a platform for South Africa’s world-class singing talent.
Trial by Media, an opera about the media's perceptions and complexities surrounding the Oscar Pistorius murder trial, is a contemporary reminder of how justice is influenced by fame and public opinion - a trial that was broadcast live via audio and television, after Pistorius was charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Reeve Steenkamp, in 2013.
