RefletsPitchReflets (Reflection) ProjectFinland

In African culture, elders are responsible for guiding younger ones on their path in life. This practice is a heritage passed down from ancestors to new generations. A dialogue of forms between movements from hip-hop dance and traditional dances, Reflets is a moment of the intersection of the past and an envisaged future.

Choreographed for two dancers, the work is driven by artists, Abdoulaye Diallo, Njara Rasolomanana and Gacirah Diagne. Reflets is supported by: Kaay Fecc Association, Dakar, Nj’Art Residency Centerm Madagascar, Madance Studio and Artpreneur Association Finland, and Afrik’Consult Culture, France.

Abdoulaye Diallo and Gacirah Diagne live in Dakar, and Njara Rasolomanana divides his time between Helsinki and Antananarivo; Pape Salif Diémé and Lukah Rehava, respectively, reside in Ziguinchor, Sénégal, and Antananarivo, Madagascar.
