Performed by Thulisile Binda and Micca Manganye, Hard but Fragile explores the concept of finding power in brokenness. A sjambok is used as a tool of instruction and creates music. The performance seeks to achieve a state of harmony and meditation, reflecting on how one can draw strength from pain. The work explores trauma and coping mechanisms. Whilst trauma remains in the body, the characters connect with themselves, enabling a collective means of reclaiming power and strength.
